September 20, 2019 – The Department of Science and Technology Region 02 spearheads the food safety training for food handlers, food processors and canteen owners in the Municipality of Saguday.

Cagayan Valley Food Safety Team (CVFST) member Aileen Constantino Gonzales discussed Basic food hygiene, food hazards and 5S; Ms. Lhea V. Seculles – Project Asst. I of Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) Quirino discusses Good Manufacturing Practices; and Ms. Daisy D. Simon – SRS II of PSTC Quirino leads the livelihood training.

The one day training aims to enforce the proper food handling and good manufacturing practices to the mentioned participants. The program is graced by the Municipal Mayor Marcelina Pagbilao.

She encouraged the participants to take the opportunity to learn and upgrade their knowledge when it come to food safety. Thru this, Saguday can promote gastronomic tourism in the province. Further, Mayor Pagbilao challenges the participants to apply and adopt what is to be taught.

For over 60 participants attended the said training.
