The Provincial Science and Technology Center – Quirino conducts Data Management and Basic Computer Literacy Training to Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) of Cabarroguis. The training is held at DISADECO Bldg. Andres Bonifacio, Diffun, Quirino on December 6-7, 2018. The two-day training focused on educating the Barangay Nutrition Scholars on basic computer manipulation to improve their productivity in generating report and preparation of adoption of the new system to be used by the BNS. The training is conducted by Ms. Lhea V. Seculles, Project Assistant – I of PSTC – Quirino in Cooperation with the Municipal Nutrition Officer Ms. Mabel Lorete.

“Data Stored properly is the basis of planning, services needed to be delivered and improvement. Ito ang dahilan kung bakit kailangan natin nang bagong paraan ng pag-store ng data para mapadali nating makita ang solusyon sa bawat problema” PD Lucio G. Calimag said in his opening remarks.

The training focused on Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint manipulation. These tools will be beneficial for BNS to generate their reports, present data, store and manage data gathered. Ms. Seculles mentioned manipulation techniques to be used and tips in using the computer applications. The trainer provided worksheets to be generated as an output for the participants to familiarize every techniques discussed. At the end of the training the group presentation their output represented by their leaders.

“Learning new things ay mahirap. Pero kung gagamitin ko ito sa aking trabaho bilang BNS masmagiging madali dahil napapraktis ko ito” Ms. Analyn P. Tanigue BNS of Dingasan, Cabarroguis, Quirino said during the presentation of output.

Empowering workers especially the Barangay Nutrition Scholars through computer literacy training is one way of improving their productivity and efficiency. Also knowledge on data management as shared by Ms. Mabel Lorete will help them accelerate the delivery of services needed in their assigned Barangay.
