SIMON DOST-Quirino, Cabarroguis, Quirino, January 13, 2016—-The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office-02, in collaboration with the Philippine Foundation for Science and Technology (PFST), Department of Education-Quirino and the Quirino General High School will showcase a new set of science centrum exhibit here on January 15 to February 28, 2016.

Dubbed as Science Works!Traveling Science Centrum, the month-long event will open on January 15, 2016 at 9:00 in the morning with a program, ribbon cutting and balloon popping to be led by Prof. Cora Salumbides, PFST Education Consultant and DOST Balik-Scientist, DOST regional director Sancho A. Mabborang, Dep-Ed division superintendent Dr. Orlando E. Manuel and Gov. Junie E. Cua.

The traveling Science Centrum shall feature 40 interactive Science and Math exhibits which can be viewed from Monday to Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. starting Friday, January 15 to February 27.

The organizers target 15,000 viewers from all over region 2 who will come by schedules.

The Science Centrum is a flagship program of the PFST which promotes the interactive learning approaches in creating science and technology consciousness and interest among the youth and the general populace.

It is the first interactive science museum in the country that offers selection of interactive, hands-on and experimental exhibits, galleries and educational programs that will enhance learning of basic science concepts and processes.

The PFST is a non-stock private organization dedicated in producing a critical mass of young of young people interested in the value of science for their future.
