The Department of Science and Technology Provincial Science and Technology Center – Quirino sends off 20 Students at the last day of their work immersion on November 5, 2019 at DOST Bldg, QSU Cmpd. A. Bonifacio, Diffun, Quirino.
Provincial Director Lucio G. Calimag graced the program and expressed his gratitude for cooperating and performing as one of the DOST Staff for the 10 days of their immersion.
“Experience is the Best Teacher… we let you experience how DOST work, how we contribute for the country-side development and how we assist the engines of innovation.” he said during his opening remarks.
Meanwhile, Joshua Ancheta shared his impression for the 10 day work immersion program.
“I did’nt expect that DOST also engaged in empowering entrepreneurs through technological upgrade on equipment and procedures. My experience on direct contact with DOST Assisted Project leads me to a greater understanding on how science and technology promotes development innovation. The procedures on food processing, herbal soap making and noodle making are technologies I never though to be a TECHNOLOGY by itself. It is now clearer to me that DOST is not just computers and research, it is also about procedures and techniques for upgrading”, Ancheta said on his impression speech.
On the other hand, DOST Staff shared their inspirational message to boost their self-confidence and hope in realizing their dreams and careers. After which, PD Calimag spearheaded the awarding of certificates to the students.
